Dr. Geoffrey Thomas was the minister of Alfred Place Baptist Church in Aberystwyth, Wales, from  1965 for the next fifty years. Born in 1938 in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, he became a Christian as a teenager in his home church, the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hengoed, in 1954. After grammar school, he read Biblical Studies, Greek and Philosophy at Cardiff University (BA, 1963). Packer’s\u003c\/a\u003e \u003cem\u003eFundamentalism and the Word of God\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eWhitefield’s Journals\u003c\/em\u003e, Lloyd-Jones’\u003cem\u003e Studies in the Sermon on the Mount\u003c\/em\u003e, and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/banneroftruth.org\/us\/about\/banner-authors\/j-c-ryle\/\"\u003eJ. C. Ryle’s\u003c\/a\u003e \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/banneroftruth.org\/us\/store\/christian-living\/holiness-2\/\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eHoliness\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e.
