Psalms in their Context employs a canonical methodology to interpret Psalms 107-118. This methodology begins with a study of each poem as a separate work, but also includes consideration of each psalm in it various literary contexts, including its relation to adjacent pslams, it Psalter context, and it canonical context. The author suggests that each psalm should be understood in light of the Psalter's three-fold themes of wisdom, eschatology and worship. An Appendix reviews selected evidence from the Dead See Scrolls on when and how the Psalter may have been put together.
