God's good news in the parables of Jesus PB

A father's rebellious son leaves home. A man discovers treasure hidden in a field.  A woman pesters a judge until he is willing to hear her case. A farmer frets over storing his crop. Drawing from the common experiences of his hearers, Jesus told these and other stories in such riveting fashion that he easily commanded a hearing.  But as this book shows,  he had a higher purpose than merely to captivate his audiences. These parables were designed  to move them from the everyday world  to the eternal world and to present them with this good news: that all who truly receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour will live with him in eternal glory.
