Endorsements

"Applicable, practical and accessible—a commentary on the Ten Commandments should be all of these things. This thoroughly biblical and forthrightly Reformed work satisfies these requirements and more and thus should be a welcome addition to any bookshelf."

—George Grant

"The appearance of this magisterial work in English translation is most welcome. Clearly written, it combines penetrating exposition of the commandments with their thoughtful and balanced contemporary application. It should do much to promote appreciation for the role of God’s law as a positive guide for Christian living, which, as Calvin reminds us, is its ‘principal’ use (IInstitutes, 2.7.12)."

—Richard B. Gaffin

"When the law of God is eclipsed, the gospel is obscured. This book imparts the light of the law with such clarity that the character of God is made wonderfully plain to us."

—R. C. Sproul

"This treatise has all the strengths of the best Dutch Reformed theology—exact learning and cool clarity, academic acumen and down-to-earth wisdom—and the author’s touch is sure as he applies the Word of God to modern life. Douma’s book must take its place as a standard resource, and all who work their way through it will find themselves very much enriched."

—J. I. Packer
