Annie Henry and the Birth of Liberty

Annie Henry is full of energy—too much energy, her father Patrick Henry would probably say. And somehow she always seems to find herself in the middle of all the excitement.

With her famous patriot father often away, working to help the cause of the American Revolution, Annie and her brothers and sisters must deal with their problems on their own. And Annie bravely does her part to help, whether that means spreading news on horseback to the neighbors about the war, helping a newfound friend, or protecting her house from a dangerous midnight visitor.

Annie misses her father, but at least she has plenty of adventures to keep her busy. And after nearly drowning while trying to cross a river with her horse, Annie comes home to take part in the biggest adventure of all—when to her great surprise, she witnesses the birth of Liberty.
