Glory of Christ: A Puritan's View on the Beauty of the SaviourBy: John Owen
Subtitled "A Puritan's View on the beauty of the Saviour" this book emphasises the fact that to see the glory of Christ is one of the greatest privileges a Christian can enjoy. Owen proposes that no one should look of anything in heaven that he has not experienced here on earth. Just as looking directly into the sun, so Christ's heavenly splendour is too brilliant for our mind's eye. In seeing it by faith we are prepared for heaven because only "in the face of Jesus Christ" can we see God and be filled with peace and rest.
